- Carnival does have the nickname of "Carnage" Cruise Lines among cruise industry workers. To cut costs, most of the newer cruise ships don't have enough redundancy in their critical systems, like housing each engine in separate compartments, back up power plants, etc. It doesn't take much to go wrong …

- They should look at consolidating some bases, especially overseas. An example is Okinawa where we have 14 bases that take up 18% of the island. We have numerous bases in Europe, like in England and Germany, surely we can close a couple there too.
